MANITOWOC – Manitowoc County residents have several local deadlines and events to watch, from disaster loan applications and a free furnace giveaway to senior programs, business honors and community food pantry support.
Manitowoc Heating seeks nominations for free furnace giveaway
Manitowoc Heating & Refrigeration Services is accepting nominations for its seventh annual Bringing the Heat program, which provides a free furnace to at least one local family in need.
Homeowners facing hardship, military families and people who help others while needing help themselves may be nominated.
Nomination forms are available on Manitowoc Heating’s Facebook page or at its offices, 211 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, and 2400 Mason St., New Holstein.
Submissions are due by 4 p.m. Aug. 30 and may be dropped off at either office or emailed to events@manitowocheating.com.
Manitowoc residents, businesses eligible for SBA disaster loans
Manitowoc County residents, businesses and private nonprofits affected by April severe storms, tornadoes and flooding can apply for low-interest disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The loans follow a June 30 presidential disaster declaration covering Manitowoc and other Wisconsin counties.
Applications are due Aug. 31 for physical property damage and March 30, 2027, for economic injury. Apply at sba.gov/disaster or call 800-659-2955.
Chamber seeks nominees for Manitowoc County Future 15 awards
The Chamber of Manitowoc County is accepting nominations for its 2026 Future 15 awards, which honor young workers making a difference professionally and personally.
The awards recognize employees ages 21 to 40 whose work helps influence growth, prosperity and quality of life in Manitowoc County.
Nominees must have a chamber membership affiliation. Nominations are due Aug. 21 and winners will be recognized Nov. 12 at the chamber’s annual banquet. Submit nominations at chambermanitowoccounty.org.
Manitowoc Senior Center, recreation programs offer fall trips and classes
The Manitowoc Senior Center and Manitowoc Recreation have announced upcoming trips, programs, concerts and activities for late summer and fall.
Senior Center trips include a Sept. 3 SC Johnson tour, an Oct. 1 Buddy Holly-themed lunch show and an Oct. 2 Epic headquarters tour. Programs include landlord-tenant rights at 1 p.m. Aug. 12 and life insurance and funeral trusts at 1 p.m. Sept. 9.
Tuesday Tunes concerts continue at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Washington Park through Aug. 25. Other offerings include a Friday movie, babysitting course, discounted attraction tickets and shopping at the Senior Center gift shop, open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
Manitowoc Recreation activities include open swim at the Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center through Aug. 16, an Aug. 7 adult pool party from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., mini-golf through October, and fall leagues and classes including disc golf, archery, basketball, volleyball, softball and fitness programs.

Bank First appoints three new directors to board
Bank First Corporation has appointed SriRaj Kantamneni, Tracy Pearson and Bill Ring to the boards of directors for Bank First and Bank First Corporation.
The appointments were effective June 16, the Manitowoc-based company announced July 23.
Kantamneni is an executive at Schreiber Foods, Pearson is an executive and consultant with financial and governance experience, and Ring leads Dalco Metals. Bank First said the directors bring expertise in technology, finance, manufacturing and community leadership.
Ariens Nordic Center to open new disc golf course Aug. 8
Ariens Nordic Center will celebrate the grand opening of its new disc golf course Aug. 8 in Brillion.
Disc golf will be free from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Opening-day events include a Mini Flex Tournament from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., raffle prizes and food for purchase.
The course is designed to host the 2028 U.S. Women’s Disc Golf Championships. Participants are encouraged to reserve tee times through the UDisc app. More information is available at ariensnordic.com.
Lakeshore CAP gets donated pallet jack to aid food pantry deliveries
Lakeshore CAP has received an electric pallet jack from Associated Solutions to help move milk and fresh food deliveries to food pantries across its six-county service area.
The donation came after Lakeshore CAP employee Tera Winnekens connected with Randy Rosinsky, who introduced the organization to Associated Solutions.
The equipment will allow staff to move milk pallets weighing more than 2,000 pounds safely and efficiently. Since January, Lakeshore CAP has delivered 87,895 pounds of fresh and perishable food.
