A third location of MOD Pizza, a fast-casual pizza chain, has permanently closed in the Milwaukee County suburbs.
After eight years in business, the restaurant at 4151 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood closed sometime near the end of July, with the location no longer appearing on the MOD Pizza website.
The Shorewood location’s phone number is also disconnected.
The closures come after the MOD Pizza locations in both Wauwatosa and Greenfield closed in April 2025.
The MOD Pizza website now only lists seven locations in Wisconsin, including three in the Milwaukee suburbs: Oak Creek, Pewaukee and Oconomowoc.
A photo was posted on a Shorewood community Facebook group showing a sign posted at the Shorewood MOD Pizza restaurant with the word “closed” in bold letters and a statement underneath: “This location is permanently closed. We are incredibly grateful for your patronage and support over the years.”
In 2024, MOD Pizza closed 44 restaurants, dispelling rumors of bankruptcy and announcing it had a new owner, a USA TODAY report found.
In April 2025, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the operation of 467 MOD Pizza locations across the nation listed on MOD’s website; as of July 2025, only 457 are listed.
A MOD Pizza representative did not immediately respond to a Journal Sentinel request for comment.
Founded in 2008, MOD Pizza offers customizable, individually sized pizzas with over 40 toppings and eight finishing sauces to choose from.
