MochiUnni announced its grand opening will be from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, in downtown Menomonee Falls.

Co-owners Pa Vang and Rose Xiong said they want to share their Hmong heritage with the greater Menomonee Falls area community. This is their first brick and mortar business, but MochiUnni dates back to 2023, when they started selling desserts and pastries at farmers markets and other events around the greater Milwaukee community.

Here’s what to know about MochiUnni’s grand opening.

MochiUnni opening will feature mochi donuts, pastries and desserts and free cheesecake

At MochiUnni’s grand opening, six flavors of mochi donuts will be available: strawberry shortcake, raspberry lemon cheesecake, S’mores, black sesame glaze and cookies ‘n’ creme.

Mochi donuts are soft, chewy donuts with a crunchy outside — a combination of an American donut and Japanese mochi.

There will also be Japanese milk loaf bread and Japanese cheesecake, and a variety of pastries and desserts: almond croissants, red bean buns, ube bread, cream croissants, matcha bread, strawberry cream cheese bread, cinnamon buns and cream-filled buns with fresh fruit on top.

The first 10 customers will receive complimentary Japanese cheesecake.

MochiUnni serves milk teas and will have boba bar for grand opening

MochiUnni serves matcha milk tea, tara milk tea and brown sugar milk tea. The milk tea comes with whipped or cheese foam.

MochiUnni’s grand opening will also feature a self-serve boba bar, where customers can pay for a cup size and choose as many boba toppings as they like. Customers can also taste the tea first.

More about MochiUnni’s location and hours

MochiUnni will be at at N89 W16750 Appleton Ave., the site of the former Gather Bakehouse, which closed its Menomonee Falls location in October and was previously Batter & Mac.

After the grand opening, the hours for MochiUnni will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
