Preparations for the city of Milwaukee’s annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration are already underway.
The Shamrock Club of Wisconsin’s 58th St. Patrick’s Day parade will return March 14 in downtown Milwaukee.
More than 100 parade units are expected to participate in the 2026 celebration, including Irish dance performances, live music, floats and more.
This year, organizers partnered with Guinness for the annual event, according to a press release. Parade Director Mike Boyle said the organizations are “thrilled” to continue the tradition, adding that they “look forward to raising a pint” with attendees during festivities.
Milwaukee’s iteration of the parade, which typically gets around 20,000 attendees, is considered one of the oldest in the U.S. The first was held in 1843 and was actually, in part, an anti-drinking rally.
