The Milwaukee Bucks agreed to sign the premier free-agent center on the market in 29-year-old Myles Turner, prying the 6-foot, 11-inch big man from the Indiana Pacers with a 4-year, $107 million deal.
The fourth year is a player option (in 2028-29) and Turner also received a 15% trade kicker.
Turner’s agency announced the signing on ESPN on July 1.
Originally the No. 11 pick of the 2015 draft, Turner was the longest-tenured Pacers player and just completed his 10th season in helping lead his team to not only beating the Bucks in the first round of the playoffs, but to the NBA finals.
Turner is more than apt replacement for Brook Lopez, who will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, as he is eight years younger but has been improving as a 3-point shooter, knocking down 39.6% of his threes last season. He is also a career 49.9% shooter from the floor overall while averaging 14.1 points per game in his career.
Turner never has made an all-defensive team, but has led the league in blocked shots twice and averages 2.2 in his career.
Turner has played 642 career games (609) starts, and has played more than 70 games each of the past two years after playing no more than 62 from 2019-23.
