And things really went into overdrive Aug. 26 when former Packers fullback John Kuhn tweeted “Micah Freaking Parsons.”

Parsons, the 26-year-old four-time Pro Bowler, has not taken part in training camp this summer with the Cowboys amid a contract dispute He formally requested a trade after four seasons in Dallas on Aug. 1.

The Cowboys have cleared him to play from a back injury, but Parsons, who is on the team’s 53-man roster, doesn’t seem any closer to suiting up unless he gets dealt from Dallas or a new deal.

Could his next landing spot really be Green Bay?

Micah Parsons to Packers rumors: Pat McAfee Show reactions

“The Pat McAfee Show” on Aug. 27 had a couple segments on the possibility.

“An immediate game wrecker,” is how McAfee described the kind of impact Parsons would have for the Packers.

“That would be a wild life event to go from Dallas to the Green Bay Packers,” McAfee said. “That would be an insane move to think about.”

McAfee acknowledged how folks on social media are even tracking fake plane routes from Dallas to Green Bay. “This is what’s happening on the internet,” he said. “The thought of this happening feels real to people.”

While it might feel real to some, a trade might not be reality. Show guest Matt Schneideman of The Athletic cautioned fans that Dallas Cowboys owner, president and general manager Jerry Jones has made no indication that he will trade his disgruntled star.

“I think right now to my knowledge, Jerry isn’t even listening to trade offers, so I’m not sure an actual trade offer can be made unless he picks up the phone,” Schneidman said. “So the Packers may have an outline of what they would offer, but if Jerry Jones isn’t listening to legitimate trade offers then I’m not sure one is technically on the table. If he does entertain it, the Packers will be interested and in the mix.”

Regardless, Packers fans will be refreshing their social media timelines all day and every day until Parsons is traded somewhere or he gets a new contract.
