Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication was established following an asset acquisition of the facility, formerly known as Broadwind Heavey Fabrications, Inc., by IES Infrastructure in the fall of 2025.
Growth under new ownership
Since the change in ownership, IES Infrastructure has made substantial investments in the Manitowoc site, according to a news release from the company. These investments help position the company for long-term growth through expanded production capacity and the launch of new product lines.
This growth includes a new metal enclosures product line, which the company says brings stable, long-term manufacturing jobs to the local community and reinforces Manitowoc’s strong industrial workforce.
“We’ve made a significant investment in expanding production capabilities at Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication needed to support future growth,” said Mike Rice, president of IES Infrastructure. “Now, we’re focused on building a strong team of employees who want reliable work, competitive benefits and opportunities to grow their careers right here in Manitowoc.”
Newly appointed vice president and general manager Jeffrey Hertlein highlighted the strong momentum behind the company’s growth.
“With the backing of IES Infrastructure, Wisconsin Heavy Fabrication is experiencing meaningful, positive change,” Hertlein said in the release. “This is an opportunity for people to join a company early in its growth phase and be part of something that’s being built the right way — from the ground up.”
