The official opening date for Camp Bar’s new Cedarburg location has arrived.
A soft opening is starts on Friday, May 22 and is set to last through Thursday, May 28. The grand opening is scheduled for Friday, May 29, according to a May 15 Facebook post.
Camp Bar Cedarburg will be located in a historic, riverfront property at W63 N664 Washington Ave. That 2,000-square-foot, cream city brick building was previously occupied by The Art of Joy Social House & Mercantile before it closed in December 2025, according to city documents.
The cozy Northwoods-themed bar franchise’s owner Paul Hackbarth obtained village approvals for the new location in early 2026, including amplified sound permitting for occasional live music.
The new location will be Hackbarth Hospitality Group’s fifth Camp Bar location, joining locations in Shorewood, Wauwatosa, Milwaukee and the Wisconsin State Fair grounds. The company also operates The Atrium, Birch and Vista event venues.
Hackbarth’s pursuit of the Cedarburg space came shortly after he pivoted away from plans to purchase a village-owned property in Brown Deer that officials hoped could be developed into a bar and restaurant.
