The Democratic Party has consistently proven itself unable to meet every political moment presented to them. In the aftermath of the murder of Corey Ruiz, we must be ready to vote for a stronger oppositional party.
There was a time when the Democrats were a party made of and for the working class. Democratic Socialism represents a return to that former reality. The Democratic Socialists of America are the emerging party of sound ideas, surrounded by a Democratic party who seems to define their policies by actively neglecting their base.
Every MAGA overstep has been met with capitulation from top democratic leadership, to the point where nationally, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s career has been defined by his political buckling.
A lot of the DSA’s rise can be accredited to failures of the Democratic Party. Voters should view Democratic Socialism as a stabilizing force in American politics. And they should view establishment Democrats as feeble representatives of an outdated way of doing politics.
