Lucky's Ice House in Milwaukee temporarily closes after fire

Lucky’s Ice House Bar & Grill, a Milwaukee bar known for its fish fries and Brewers game shuttles, is temporarily closed after a fire broke out at the business on June 1, according to a social media post from the restaurant.

According to Milwaukee Fire Chief Aaron Lipski, the blaze started in the basement of the bar, 4238 W. Orchard St., before spreading through the walls and possibly into the attic space. The incident quickly escalated to a second-alarm, which means an incident command post was established at the scene.

No injuries were reported, according to Lipski and the business.

Lipski noted that firefighters had responded to multiple significant fires throughout the day, including another fire that escalated to a third alarm structure fire at an apartment complex near the Milwaukee-Glendale border.

As a result of the fire, Lucky’s announced June 1 that it would temporarily cease operations.

“Unfortunately we have had a fire,” the business said in a Facebook post. “Everyone is safe, we will not be opening or shuttling to games until further notice.”
