WAUSAU − A Wausau business will pay $250,000 for reported violations of air pollution control permits and Wisconsin air pollution control laws.
Apogee Wausau Group, which does business as Linetec, agreed to the settlement, which was signed March 4 by Marathon County Circuit Judge Scott Corbett.
The state reported Apogee violated numerous state environmental laws, including exceeding its emission limits for particulate matter and failing to properly operate an air pollution control device. The state also reported Apogee failed to perform required compliance emission testing, demonstrate continuous compliance with hazardous air pollution emission limitations, maintain required records, record and timely report required data and calibrate equipment associated with air pollution control devices.
