Santa Claus: Welcome visitor or criminal illegal?
Tis the season. Everyone knows Santa comes from the North Pole. He enters residences, leaving nothing but presents — though he will partake in some milk and cookies. A lot of kids will have already sat on Santa’s lap, telling him what they want for Christmas.
Nobody talks about how Santa crosses the border — illegally. He has no visa. He drives his sleigh with no license, registration or insurance. I’m not even going to talk about his strange obsession with kids. With his sleigh, how do we know those “gifts” aren’t an elaborate scheme to smuggle drugs — he never goes through customs.
If Santa wants to come this year, I think he should apply for a visa — to protect our kids and public safety (though, we already know he’s crossed the border, illegally, in the past).
Personally, I’m concerned about our government giving the go-ahead to destroy his vessel, and him.
But how do we know he isn’t trying to bring death and destruction to our fair country? If we have closed borders, I think the administration should cancel Christmas this year — just to be safe.
Our government is causing trauma, and death — something Santa hasn’t done. Yet, is it OK for government to be calling people, like Santa, criminals — simply for crossing the border? It’s time to revamp our immigration policies — and to stop throwing around baseless accusations.
Happy holidays to all, and to all a good night.
