Is Wisconsin still ranked in AP, coaches polls after Ohio State loss, Iowa win?

Wisconsin men’s basketball’s return to the college basketball polls turned out to be short-lived.

The Badgers are no longer ranked in the Associated Press poll or USA TODAY coaches poll released Feb. 23 after splitting games against unranked Ohio State and Iowa.

UW previously was No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the USA TODAY coaches poll. The Badgers’ first national ranking since November followed a pair of top-10 upsets over then-No. 7 Illinois and then-No. 10 Michigan State.

Wisconsin received 35 votes in the coaches poll, which unofficially puts UW at No. 26. UW also had the highest vote total among unranked teams in the AP poll.

UW is 19-8 overall and 11-5 in Big Ten play. Its next three opponents – Oregon, Washington and Maryland – are unranked before the Badgers visit No. 8 Purdue to conclude the regular season. The Badgers have a 3-3 record against teams ranked in the coaches poll.
