Hazmat crews were on scene for about an hour and a half, Milwaukee Fire Department Deputy Chief Robert Hartung said.

By 8:45 a.m., the leak had been contained and crews were leaving the scene, Hartung said.

A statement from hospital officials said, “No patients or staff were harmed, the oxygen supply to the building was never interrupted, and the facility is operating normally.”

The hospital, at 5000 W. National Ave., offers a variety of medical care services for veterans, including emergency, primary care, pharmacy and mental health care.
