A company which sells furniture to hotels, offices, and other businesses has relocated its Milwaukee-area headquarters to the Walker’s Point neighborhood.
Henricksen’s new “Milwaukee experience center” is leasing 14,500 square feet at the Eagleknit building, 507 S. Second St.
The company moved there from Brookfield, and has 25 employees based in Walker’s Point.
“This move positions Henricksen at the heart of Milwaukee’s design, architecture, and real estate communities, creating a space where teams, clients, and partners feel comfortable, connected, and inspired to collaborate,” Henricksen said, in a June 16 statement.
“The new space elevates the company’s ability to showcase its capabilities and product offerings across the full range of industries it serves, including office, healthcare, education, government, senior living, and hospitality,” it said.
Henricksen’s new space was designed in collaboration with the Kahler Slater design firm. It features a workplace café, design lab, studio workspaces, and a working experience center to showcase its products.
The new space includes a restored skylight, as well as highlighting original steel pipes, exposed beams, and other architectural details from the Eagleknit building’s industrial past.
Eagleknit’s $30 million redevelopment from a former knitting factory was largely completed by Wangard Partners Inc. in 2021.
A grand opening event is scheduled for June 24. Henricksen is based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
