DENVER – The Milwaukee Brewers arrived at Coors Field with a different look on the roster.
Relievers Craig Yoho and Brian Fitzpatrick joined the team from Class AAA Nashville, taking the roster spots of DL Hall, who was placed on the injured list, and Jake Woodford, who was designated for assignment.
Hall, one of two Brewers pitchers to leave the game the day prior due to injury, is listed as having a left pectoral strain. Right-hander Grant Anderson, who also exited the game when he was hit in the right forearm with a line drive, remained on the active roster.
Woodford appeared in 16 games after being acquired for minor-leaguer K.C. Hunt just prior to opening day and had a 6.94 ERA. His most recent outing, allowing four runs and seven hits in three innings on June 4, in conjunction with the Brewers needing as much depth as possible heading into back-to-back series in high-altitude stadiums, led to the move.
The right-hander pitched well at times early in his two-month stint with Milwaukee but allowed 11 earned runs over his final eight innings.
Fitzpatrick joins the Brewers for his second stint this season, while Yoho gets the call for the first time.
The Brewers’ co-minor league pitcher of the year in 2024, Yoho struggled in his brief cups of coffee in the bigs last year, pitching to a 7.27 ERA in eight appearances. He has dominated at Class AAA so far this season, holding opponents to a 1.00 ERA with a 12.0 K/9 in 16 appearances.
