Winter sports across Central Wisconsin came to a dramatic close over the past week, opening up spring sports with some marquee track performances across the region.

Jensen Rice, Iola-Scandinavia: Rice snagged first place in the men’s 60-meter race at the Berlin Indoor Invite on March 19 then another first place in the 60-meter hurdles at the boys SPASH Invite on Saturday, March 21.
Aiden Bowen, Iola-Scandinavia: Bowen finished in second place in the men’s 60-meter race at the Berlin Indoor Invite on March 19. Second place in the 200-meter race. Third place in long jump
Evan Linjer, Iola-Scandinavia: Linjer took first place in the 800-meter race at the Berlin Indoor Invite on March 19.
Jack Beck, Iola-Scandinavia: Beck finished in second place in the 1,600-meter race at the Berlin Indoor Invite on March 19.
Ben Beck, Iola-Scandinavia: Beck notched second place in the 3,200-meter race at the Berlin Indoor Invite on March 19.
Henry Vater, Iola-Scandinavia: Vater finished place in the 3,200-meter race at the boys SPASH Invite on March 21.
Adam McKaig, D.C. Everest: McKaig finished in second place in the 60-meter race at the UW-Osh Kosh boys and girls D1 invite on March 19 then took first place in the 60-meter race at the Boys SPASH Invite on Saturday, March 21.
Xavier Edwards, D.C. Everest: Edwards took first place finishes in the long jump and triple jump events and fifth place in the 60-meter race at the UW-Osh Kosh boys and girls D1 invite on March 19.
Will VanSlyke, D.C. Everest: VanSlyke took first place in the 800-meter race at the UW-Osh Kosh boys and girls D1 invite on March 19 then another first place finish in the 3,200 meter race at the boys SPASH Invite on March 21.
