It’s time to take a look at the top spring sports performances over the past week for high school athletes around the area.
Find out which performances stood out as the strongest outings from performances across baseball, softball, and boys and girls track and field.
Here is a look at the top high school performances around the Central Wisconsin area from April 13-20.
Baseball:
Kian Ellenbecker, Athens: Ellenbecker collected two hits, two runs, and two RBI, including two doubles in a 14-0 win over Chequamegon on Monday, April 20.
Kaleb Cracraft, Athens: Cracraft struck out 10, yielding zero hits in five innings pitched in Athens’ 14-0 victory over Chequamegon on Monday, April 20.
Brady Berg, Stratford: Berg went deep with a home run, driving in two runs in Stratford’s 10-0 win over Neillsville/Granton on Monday, April 20. In Stratford’s following victory over Assumption, Berg notched three hits and drove in six runs in a 11-1 victory over Assumption.
Devin Cherney, Auburndale: Cherney struck out six over seven innings pitched, relenting only one run in a 3-1 victory over Edgar on Tuesday, April 21.
Hunter Walter, Loyal: Walter’s double drove in a game-high of three RBI in Loyal’s 11-0 victory over Spencer on Tuesday, April 21.
Kamden Zamke, Athens: Zamke’s four hits included two triples and six RBI in a 19-6 victory over Prentice on Tuesday, April 21.
Kaden Kolodziej, Mosinee: Kolodziej yielded two hits and zero runs, while striking out eight in six innings pitched, helping Mosinee reach a 10-0 victory over Merrill.
Cain Toufar, Loyal: Toufar tallied three hits, two runs, including two doubles for a game-high of four RBI in Loyal’s 15-2 victory over Spencer.
Girls Soccer:
Joy Schuller, Stevens Point: Schuller scored one goal in an 8-1 win over Wausau East on Tuesday, April 21.
Amelia Castleberg, Stevens Point: Castleberg dominated with a game-high of five goals and one assist in an 8-1 win over Wausau East on Tuesday, April 21.
Catalina Leon, Stevens Point: Leon notched one goal and two assists in an 8-1 win over Wausau East on Tuesday, April 21.
Delaney Schatschneider, Stevens Point: Schatschneider finished with one goal in an 8-1 win over Wausau East on Tuesday, April 21.
Softball:
Rylee Hraby, Medford: Hraby yielded zero hits and runs over three innings pitched while striking out eight in a 23-0 victory over Northland Pines on Thursday, April 23.
Ava Hartl, Medford: Hartl plated three hits, two runs, and five RBI in a 23-0 victory over Northland Pines on Thursday, April 23.
Calee Schulist, Amherst: Schulist collected three hits, two runs, and a game-high of three RBI in a 21-3 win over Weyauwega-Fremont on Thursday, April 23.
Ally Blanchard, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln: Blanchard recorded two hits, three runs, and five RBI in a 16-2 victory over Wausau East on April 21.
Jackie Nooyen, Amherst: Nooyen collected two hits, three runs, and two RBI in a 13-3 victory over Wautoma on Friday, April 24.
Riya Ceballos, Almond-Bancroft: At-bat Ceballos led with two hits, three runs, and four RBI, but dominated on the mound with zero hits and runs yielded, while striking out eight in a 15-0 victory over Tri-County on Monday, April 20.
Aaliyah Newby, Almond-Bancroft: Newby tallied two hits, three runs, and one RBI in a 15-0 victory over Tri-County.
Braeleigh Suda, Loyal/Greenwood: Suda dominated with three hits, three runs, and four RBI in a 16-3 victory over Colby/Abbotsford.
Paetyn Jirschele, Mosinee: Jirschele smashed two home runs, across four hits, four runs, and six RBI in a 19-0 victory over Rhinelander on Tuesday, April 21. She hit another home run in Mosinee’s following victory over Merrill on Thursday, April 23.
Briley Kazcor, Mosinee: Kazcor recorded two hits, including a home run and three RBI, in a 19-0 victory over Rhinelander.
Ava Busse, Mosinee: Busse finished with zero hits or runs yielded while striking out six over three innings pitched in a 19-0 victory over Rhinelander on Tuesday, April 21.
Addyson Henrich, Mosinee: Henrich smashed two home runs across three hits, adding three runs and two RBI in a 12-1 victory over Merrill.
Taelyn Jirschele, Mosinee: Jirschele smashed two home runs in a 12-1 victory over Merrill.

Alexis Wierzba, Amherst: Wierzba reached first place in the discus throw at the CWC Pre Conference Meet on Monday, April 20.
