FOND DU LAC – Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership has a new executive director.
Brittany Machleit, who has served the role on an interim basis since May, has been appointed permanently, the partnership announced Aug. 13.
“Brittany has demonstrated tremendous energy and commitment to downtown Fond du Lac,” DFP Board of Directors President J.J. Raflik said. “She has built strong relationships with our businesses, partners and volunteers, and the board is excited to have her lead the organization forward.”
Machleit was previously the partnership’s special events director, bringing additional experience in event planning, marketing, communications, community engagement and relationship building.
Now, she will oversee day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives, while her leadership also touches on business development, downtown revitalization, special events, marketing, fundraising, sponsorships and community partnerships.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Downtown Fond du Lac,” she said. “I’m excited to build on the positive momentum, support our businesses and continue strengthening downtown Fond du Lac.”
Executive recruitment and strategy firm Innovative Public Advisors facilitated the recruitment process.
What’s coming up in downtown Fond du Lac?
While the Downtown Fond du Lac Farmers’ Market continues every Saturday through October, another event to look forward to is Fondue Fest Sept. 12. The free festival brings fondue, vendors, kids’ activities, multiple stages with live music, and much more across several blocks of Main Street.
The rest of this year includes Witches Day Out event with local business specials Oct. 24, the Monster March trick-or-treating event Oct. 31, and the Holiday Wine Walk Nov. 7.
