Bill Walsh, who most recently has been weekend evening news anchor at Channel 58, will anchor the station’s noon and 4 p.m. newscasts starting Aug. 25.

Strehlow announced his plans for a “phased retirement” in April. The co-anchor of Channel 58’s first newscast in 1996, he will continue to host and produce “CBS 58 Sunday Morning” each week.

Walsh joined Channel 58 as a reporter and fill-in anchor in April 2013. At various times during his tenure at the station, Walsh has co-anchored nightly newscasts at 5 and 10 p.m., anchored a 9 p.m. newscast produced by Channel 58 for sister station WMLW, and was co-anchor of the station’s 4 p.m. newscast when it launched in March 2015.

He’s been the station’s weekend evening news anchor since November 2020.
