Three people in northeastern Wisconsin won big in the Powerball drawing April 29, with multiple $1 million winners across the greater Green Bay and Kaukauna areas.
According to Wisconsin Lottery, the four $1 million tickets won were sold at:
Two other $2 million tickets were sold in Wisconsin – Brite Spot 2, 10 Silver St., Hurley, and BP, 810 W. Wisconsin St., Sparta. Their $1 million prize doubled because of the multiplier with the Power Play feature.
The six tickets matched all five numbers 3-19-35-51-67 but didn’t hit the Powerball of 15.
Wisconsin Lottery thinks the big number of wins is because how players chose their numbers on the playslips. The five winning numbers were in the same column of the Powerball playslip, so players “may have thought it was an easy or lucky way to select their numbers.”
Overall, 5,637 tickets won prizes between $4 to $2 million in Wisconsin. Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim winnings.
Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 get a 2% Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive of up to $100,000.
The chances of winning a $1 million Powerball prize is 1 in 11,688,054. With the $1 Power Play add-on option, the odds of doubling the prize April 29 were 1 in 1.8 tickets, according to the Wisconsin Lottery.
