Authorities identify Shawano man killed in crash with dump truck

A Shawano man who died in a two-vehicle crash in Chilton May 11 was identified as Tyler Polum, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office announced May 15.

Polum, 39, died in a crash after pulling into the path of a dump truck around 11:10 a.m. May 11 at the intersection of State 57 and Calumet County PP, authorities said.

Polum had stopped at a stop sign while traveling westbound in a sport utility vehicle on PP when he entered the intersection, colliding with a dump truck that was southbound on State 57.

The driver of the truck, a 72-year-old man from Luxemburg, wasn’t injured.

The sheriff’s office said May 15 that the crash remains under investigation.
