An Appleton man died as a result of a boat crash north of the Kewaunee Lighthouse Pier, according to the Kewaunee Police Department.
Police responded to a boating incident at 4:37 a.m. Aug. 17, the news release said. An 18-foot fishing boat was heading north from the Kewaunee Harbor when it crashed into the south side of the north breakwall, police said.
The driver of the boat, an 81-year-old Appleton man, was pulled from the water by the U.S. Coast Guard and pronounced dead at the scene. The only passenger on the boat, a 68-year-old Appleton man, sustained minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
