An 80-year-old man died June 15 after a two-vehicle crash in Shawano County.
According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received calls around 10:22 a.m. for a motor vehicle crash on State 29, east of Broadway Road in the Town of Hartland.
When officials arrived, it was determined that an SUV headed eastbound on State 29 had collided with a motorcycle that had just entered the highway from a nearby business. It appeared the SUV was not able to brake in time to avoid collision.
The motorcyclist was found unconscious at the scene and was later pronounced dead. One person was in the SUV and was uninjured.
This is the second fatal crash in Shawano County in less than 10 days — a 69-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man were killed June 6 in a fatal crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
