A 7-year-old boy with autism died Sept. 6 after drowning in a pond in Calumet County, according to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 4:22 p.m., deputies responded to the North Shore Apartments on Sonny Drive in Harrison to reports of a missing child. After they arrived, they found the child in about 4 to 5 minutes, unresponsive in a pond on the property.
The deputy who found the child pulled him from the pond and began performing life saving measures. After more life saving measures from first responders, the child was transported to Theda Care Neenah where he was pronounced dead.
Based on the initial investigation, no foul play is suspected, and no criminal charges are expected. The sheriff’s office said they will not release more information.
