Celebrate Plover
Celebrate Plover will run July 24 and 25 at Lake Pacawa in Plover. Festivities will kick off at 4:30 p.m. Friday with food and beverages available until 11 p.m. A car show by Jack Stand Racin’ Car Club will start at 5 p.m. Friday, and a Kids Fun Run will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Lake Pacawa Run, Walk & Roll 5K at 6 p.m. Friday. The Jerry Schmitt Band will perform live music from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, as well. The celebration will continue at 9 a.m. Saturday with a volleyball tournament, an outdoor business expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and craft vendors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. A veteran’s tribute will start at 11 a.m. in the bandshell, and Dance Dynamics will perform at 11 a.m. Saturday. People can learn to play pickleball from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, as well. Youth activities will be set up from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and food and beverages will be available from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday. Live music will run from 2 p.m. to midnight, including music by Soul Whiskey, Kaylin Kole & Matthew Paul and Outlaw’d. A choreographed fireworks show will start at dusk Saturday. The Night Before Christmas in July
STC Comedy will host The Night Before Christmas in July, a comedy event starting at 7 p.m. July 24 at The Opera House, 1136 Main St. in Stevens Point. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the holiday-themed improv comedy show. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to wear their favorite ugly sweaters or other holiday attire. People choosing to participate in a white elephant gift exchange can bring a $10 or less “gag gift” to play. Cocktails and mocktails will be available at the bar. Stretch N Sip
Point Brewery will host a Stretch N Sip event with Yoga with Renee Cathryn at 10 a.m. July 26 at 2617 Water St. in Stevens Point. The class will offer slow flow yoga and will be appropriate for all levels. After class, participants can enjoy a local beverage. A $15 ticket includes the class and beverage ticket and can be paid in cash or through Venmo. Doors will open at 9:40 a.m. for the event.
