“Fiddler on the Roof Jr.”
Over 50 local youth will bring an adaptation of the Broadway classic “Fiddler on the Roof” to the stage in the Helen Connor Laird Theater at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Marshfield campus. Performances of “Fiddler on the Roof Jr.” will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14 and Friday, Aug. 15 and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16. The story follows Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters as they navigate life in the village of Anatevka amid changing times and rising anti-Semitism in Czarist Russia. The production features beloved songs such as “Tradition” and “If I Were a Rich Man.” Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online at tickets.uwsp.edu or at the campus box office starting one hour before each show, pending availability.
Movies in the Park
Enjoy a free family movie under the stars starting around 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15 at Columbia Park, 201 W. Arnold St. in Marshfield. This is the final movie of the 2025 summer series, sponsored by Marshfield Young Professionals. Bring a chair or bean bag for seating. Popcorn and blankets will be available. In the event of rain, the movie will move to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Clues to the movie title are provided on the event’s Facebook page.
Skybound Family Festival
The Skybound Family Festival, hosted by Discovery Education Station, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 16 at the Marshfield Municipal Airport, 400 W. 29th St. This one-of-a-kind event brings together airplanes, rockets, drones, remote-control aircraft, a Lifelink helicopter, HAM radio demonstrations and more. From hot air balloon science experiments to interactive exhibits and innovation stations, it’s a full day of discovery for kids and adults. The event will also feature bounce houses, a new mining sluice, scavenger hunt, petting zoo, local vendors and family-focused businesses, and a breakfast available throughout the event for $5. The festival is also a fundraiser to help provide a handicap-accessible vehicle for Discovery Education Station’s special needs children and adults.
