US Senate panel to hold May 1 confirmation hearing for deputy commerce secretary nominee

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The Senate Commerce Committee said Tuesday it plans to hold a May 1 confirmation hearing for Paul Dabbar to serve as deputy U.S. commerce secretary.

Dabbar is a former CEO of Bohr Quantum Technology, developing and deploying technologies for the emerging quantum internet and a director at Dominion Energy. Dabbar, a former nuclear submarine officer, served in the first Trump administration as a senior Energy Department official.
