Why can't I reach my congressional representative? | Opinion

Our Wichita Falls area readers reflect many diverse opinions and viewpoints. Letters to the editor are written by members of our local community and their lawmakers and reflect their personal beliefs not those of the Times Record News. The opinion of these letters is neither endorsed nor opposed by the Times Record News.

I’m angry!  In order to see a staffer at our congressional representative’s office about any issue you may have, one must have an appointment.  In order to get an appointment, one must call the congressman’s office.  The staffers at the congressman’s office don’t answer the phone, nor do they return your phone call if you leave your name and number! My question is how do our people in our area get an appointment?

The closest place we can even go to see a staffer in person appears to be Archer City on Monday, Feb. 9 between 10 a.m. and 2 a.m.! Why bother to vote for the incumbent if you can never be heard? We can never actually interact with the congressman unless we belong to Republican Women or belong to the country club!

We want a town hall for all!
