Vets' Brandon Reyes voted Driscoll Children's Hospital High School Athlete of the Week

Veterans Memorial’s Brandon Reyes made an impact on both sides of the football in the Eagles win against Brownsville Rivera and has been voted the Driscoll Children’s Hospital Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 8-13.

Reyes caught two passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns and added two interceptions on defense in a win against Brownsville Rivera.

Reyes received 27,121 of the 71,768 votes cast, which was 37.8% of total votes.

Tuloso-Midway football player Jace Arriaga was second with 26,466 votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Saturday and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com or on X @CallerSports.

Voting runs through Thursday each week.
