A new housing option is coming to far East El Paso.
Villas at Augusta is planning to build a 60-unit wood-framed apartment complex along Zaragoza Road.
Nationally, the need for apartments has been on the rise for several reasons, including rising home payments and rents, a lag in the supply of new homes and shifts in demographics and market trends.
Where is it?
The new Villas at Augusta will be located at 3960 Zaragoza Rd. in far East El Paso, according to the city’s permit and licensing page.
The location sits just in front of a residential neighborhood and next door to a Panda Self Storage. Just down the road is a Murphy gas station, a Burger King and several other shops and restaurants.
What was there before?
The new Villas at Augusta is being constructed atop a currently vacant lot.
The 60 units are slated to be split between five wood-framed residential buildings. Construction also calls for a clubhouse, maintenance building, playground and a pool.
Who is the contractor?
The contractor for the project is not listed on the city’s website, but the applicant is Angel Bataller Rincon of WDA Inc. in El Paso. The owner is listed as Ike Monty of El Paso.
The project is valued at $7.5 million.
