“Randy represents what it truly means to be a Wayland Pioneer — someone who not only pursues knowledge but uses it to make a lasting difference in the lives of others,” Jeffrey Vera, director of alumni relations and career services, said in the media release.

Neff began his career in child welfare with Child Protective Services in 2002 and was named CPS Worker of the Year in 2003.

In 2014, Neff received the Patsy Baggett Service Award from the Wichita County Child Welfare Board and was named CPS Staff of the Year by the Advisory Committee for Promoting Adoption of Minority Children.

He serves as senior vice president for child welfare collaborative EMPOWER, overseeing services across nine counties in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In addition to Wichita Falls, Wayland Baptist University operates campuses in Plainview, Lubbock, Amarillo and San Antonio as well as Arizona, Hawaii and online.
