Texas A&M’s consistent success on the recruiting trail has led to 12 commits, including a nation-high four five-star commitments led by standout edge Zyron Forstall, while blue-chip IOL Kennedy Brown committed to the Aggies last weekend and is likely the first offensive line domino to drop.
Amid the news that the Aggies are now predicted to land the No. 1-ranked tackle in the 2027 cycle, five-star Mark Matthews, one of the program’s more underrated commits, four-star edge Kaden McCarty, has continued to improve over his past two seasons and has quickly become one of the more pursued pass rushers in the cycle, but remains a “hard” Aggie commit.
Earlier this year, McCarty showed off his deep set of pass-rush moves at the Houston Rivals camp and is one of the smoother operators in the country, thanks to his elite bend and ability to keep his feet once he enters the pocket. However, unless you live in the area or cover Texas A&M recruiting, knowing the exact skillset McCarty brings to the table.
Thanks to man himself, McCarty released a condensed, nearly three-minute clip of highlights from his 2025 junior season, when he produced 51 tackles, 12 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles on the year. McCarty has been very vocal on social media, consistently recruiting fellow 2027 prospects ahead of the summer.
