Three-star OL recruit Lincoln Mageo to visit Longhorns

As the Texas Longhorns look to improve their 2027 class, they had a reason to celebrate on Friday. Three-star recruit Lincoln Mageo locked in his official visit with the Longhorns for June 12-14. While Steve Sarkisian and his staff still have to make their best pitch, they have made enough of an impression that Mageo is willing to make the trip to Austin.

During the recruiting process, Mageo has drawn interest from various programs. He has received offers from Arizona, Utah, Washington, Arizona State, Colorado, Michigan State, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC. The California native has already visited Utah and Memphis. He also has a visit set with Washington for June.

The heavy interest comes as no surprise, given how Mageo’s stock has risen. The Oceanside High star is ranked as the 16th-best interior offensive lineman in his class by 247Sports. They also rank him as the 31st best player from California. That is partly why Texas is interested in adding him to the mix.

If Mageo commits to Texas he would be part of a talented 2027 class. The Longhorns have secured commitments from two four-star recruits in Easton Royal and Cameron Hall. They have also made offers to some of the top players still on the board including Ahmad Hudson, Jaxon Dollar, KJ Green, and Cooper Witten.

Currently, the Longhorns’ 2027 class is ranked 13th in the nation by 247Sports. Texas should be able to jump into the top ten if it can secure commitments from some of the four and five-star recruits it has been connected to. Adding Mageo would make them deeper and improve the offensive line.

Over the next few weeks, Mageo will be a player to watch as he weighs his options. In just a few months, he will get to see what his future as a Longhorn could hold.
