Five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster is the No. 1 overall player in the 2027 recruiting cycle and has been committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders since October of 2025. However, his recruitment is far from over, and he has continued to visit programs across the country.
He has already officially visited the LSU Tigers and Indiana Hoosiers, and taken multiple unofficial visits to see the Florida Gators. His latest official visit is even closer to home, with him set to officially visit the Texas Longhorns this weekend, according to Charlie Williams of Inside Texas.
While it is his first time visiting the Longhorns this year, he visited them twice last year before committing to Texas Tech last year. Brewster is set to return to Lubbock on June 19 for his official visit with the Red Raiders, giving them an opportunity to remind him why he committed to them and to try to shut his recruitment down.
Brewster is ranked as the No. 1 overall player and No. 1 defensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. The Cedar Hill product is also the No. 1 player from Texas.
He is one of two five-star recruits committed to Texas Tech, along with edge Anthony Sweeney, the No. 21 player in the country. They have a chance to be a special duo at the next level, the Red Raiders will just have to keep fighting to make sure that it is for them.
