Texas Tech star JT Toppin leaves Arizona State game with apparent leg injury

Texas Tech basketball star forward JT Toppin appeared to suffer a right leg injury late in the second half of Tuesday’s game against Arizona State.

Toppin was attempting to drive to the line in transition but lost his balance and had the ball blocked out of bounds. He stayed on the ground for a period, holding his right leg and asked for trainer Mike Neal to come over and help him.

Head coach Grant McCasland and Neal had to help Toppin off the floor as Toppin was not able to put his full weight on his leg.

Texas Tech was trailing 61-56 with 6:03 at the time of Toppin’s exit. He was later helped to the locker room.

Toppin was ruled out for the game with about 1:25 left, per the ESPN broadcast.
