Texas Football re-enters AP Top 25, but not by much

After a week on the outside looking, the Texas Longhorns are back in the AP Top 25. The Horns re-enter the ranking at No. 21 after beating Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry.

Oklahoma fell eight spots to No. 14. Ohio State remains No. 1. The other team that saw significant drops was now No. 8 Oregon.

Texas is No. 17 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The top five of both polls is exactly the same. Miami, Indiana, Texas A&M and Ole Miss round out the group. Alabama, Georgia, Texas Tech, Oregon and LSU make up the rest of the Top 10.

Like the Coaches Poll, the SEC lands 10 teams in the Top 25. The Big Ten has five teams in the rankings. The Big 12 has four teams and the ACC has three.

Penn State, who fell out of the rankings last week, have now parted ways with head coach James Franklin.
