Corpus Christi police charged a 41-year-old man with murder in connection with a man’s death in the Molina area on June 8, according to an online post from the Corpus Christi Police Department.
At 7:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Valdez Drive in reference to a physical altercation. Upon arrival, they spoke with Manuel Anthony Rodriguez, who was injured. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Rodriguez directed officers to the 900 block of Bloomington Street, about 352 yards away, to locate the other person involved, the post said.
Officers found the second male at a residence nearby and began administering aid until medics arrived. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
As of June 9, the victim had not been identified by the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Rodriguez was released from the hospital and transported to the main police station for interviewing. Detectives deduced that the men knew each other and that a disturbance had occurred.
Rodriguez was ultimately charged with murder and transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
Police said the case is an active investigation.
