Texas A&M vs. Auburn series opener postponed due to inclement weather

Texas A&M and Auburn baseball will have to wait one more day before they square off in a top-10 matchup in Bryan-College Station this weekend.

According to a release from the university, Friday’s series opener between the Aggies and Tigers at Blue Bell Park has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The game was slated to begin at 7 p.m. CT, but heavy rain and storms throughout the region had different plans.

Texas A&M baseball wasn’t the only sport on campus to experience weather-related issues, as track and field, softball, and tennis saw their matchups rescheduled for Saturday due to the poor conditions expected on Friday.

The series opener between Texas A&M and Auburn will begin at 1 p.m. CT, followed by Game 2, which is slated to begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the opening contest. The Aggies’ recognition of the Mark Massey Legacy Foundation, which was also scheduled for Friday, will be celebrated during both games of the doubleheader on Saturday at Olsen Field.

The Aggie lineup must be prepared for what they will face on Saturday, as the visiting Tigers boast the top pitching staff in the SEC so far this season. Auburn’s bullpen has a combined 3.29 ERA and 438 total strikeouts in 2026, while allowing just a .225 opponent batting average. That success is due in large part to the Tigers’ dangerous left-hander Jake Marciano, who is expected to start on the mound in Game 2. Marciano enters the weekend with a 2.04 ERA, which ranks second in the conference.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M’s electrifying duo of outfielder Caden Sorrell and first baseman Gavin Grahovac has sent shockwaves throughout college baseball with their impressive performances at the plate for the Aggies this season. Sorrell ranks second in the league with 20 homers, while Grahovac ranks third with a .369 batting average for the Maroon and White thus far.
