Texas A&M’s 2025 season ended at 11-2 and 7-1 in SEC play, while the Aggies earned their first trip to the College Football Playoff, only to fall in the first round 10-3 to eventual national runner-up Miami. Still, coach Mike Elko and his veteran roster should be proud of what they accomplished, especially transfer wide receivers Mario Craver and KC Concepcion.
With Mario Craver returning for a final season after re-signing with the Aggies in early December, Texas A&M’s wide receiver room will look somewhat different in 2026, as KC Concepcion is headed to the NFL after two seasons at NC State and one year in College Station. Similar to his 2025 teammate, offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III, Concepcion is extremely versatile, providing instant production as a standout punt returner.
Last season, Concepcion reeled in a career high 919 yards and nine touchdowns, paried with two punt return touchdowns, including one of the more memorable returns during Texas A&M’s blowout 49-25 road win over LSU.
Serving as starting quarterback Marcel Reed’s most reliable pass catcher, Concepcion is widely viewed as a first-round draft pick and is already looking the part during Saturday’s combine workout. During Friday’s media availability, Concepcion highlighted his ability as a slot receiver at the next level.
“As soon as I get the ball in my hands, it’s electric,” Concepcion stated. “It doesn’t matter if it’s a screen, if it’s a slant or a fade route or any route really, I’m going to catch the ball and it’s going to be amazing.”
On Saturday, Concepcion did not run or jump at the NFL combine but did take part in several on-field workouts, including the always-entertaining hands drill, where every participant has to catch throws in a straight line from right to left without dropping a ball. Concepcion was perfect, as we expected.
Concepcion also showed off his deep speed, needing to out run defenders along the boundary given his lack of height, while running past linebackers or safeties in the slot provides a significant advantage during his route. Concepcion’s ability to quickly separate against coverage will go a long way towards improving his draft status.
