Texas A&M star Edge records historic pass rush time per Next Gen Stats

Out of the record 13 Texas A&M players who are participating in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, 2025 unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell and wide receiver KC Concepcion are the two veterans who stick out, while defensive tackle Albert Regis made himself some money after his highly impressive performance on Thursday afternoon.

After the defensive tackles worked out, the 2026 edge group is loaded with talent, including David Bailey, Arvell Reese, Keldric Faulk, and several other intriguing names, while Cashius Howell’s expected combine measurements, headlined by his 30-inch arm length, could result in a potential drop to the bottom half of the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

However, Howell’s combine performance on Thursday only helped his case to be selected as a top 15 pick after running an official 4.60 40-yard dash (4th among DE), a 1.58 10-yard split (tied for 1st among DE) and a highly impressive 9’7″ broad jump, which is tied for 10th among participating defensive ends.

Now, for those who enjoy the more in-depth combine analysis, Next Gen Stats clocked Howell at 14.52 MPH during the pass rush drill, which is the best time since current Houston Texans star edge Will Anderson Jr.’s during the 2023 combine (14.90 mph), further proving that a short-arm length should keep teams away from taking a chance on an elite athlete with the 2025 production to back up his performance.

Setting high expectations for himself before the 2025 season, Howell became the nation’s top pass rusher for most of the year, and while his struggles against Texas and Miami in the CFP are notable, 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 41 pressures, all team-highs, are what matter for most scouts who value tape of combine results.

Either way, Cashius Howell is on track to make one team very happy in late April.
