Since legendary coach Pat Henry arrived in College Station two decades ago, Texas A&M track & field has rewritten its record book more times than most programs do in a lifetime. National titles, All‑Americans, and historic performances have become the standard and on Saturday, senior sprinter Camryn Dickson added another chapter to that legacy.
Dickson, already one of the most decorated sprinters in program history, continues to elevate her ceiling. The 200m has long been her signature event, and just weeks after setting the school record at the Alumni Muster with a time of 22.15, she lowered it again on one of the biggest stages of the season.
Competing at John McDonnell Field during the NCAA West Preliminary Round, Dickson delivered a blistering 22.13, a personal best that shaved .02 seconds off her own Texas A&M record. The performance not only secured her spot in the next round it also set a new facility record, underscoring just how dominant the senior has become.
Dickson wasn’t the only Aggie to advance. Senior Jasmine Montgomery clocked 22.38, and sophomore Anya Jackson followed with a 22.57, giving Texas A&M three qualifiers moving on in the 200m.
With the postseason heating up, Dickson’s form couldn’t be peaking at a better time. Her progression mirrors the program’s long-standing tradition under Henry: elite talent, elite development, and elite results when it matters most.
