Texas A&M has found its cornerbacks coach for the upcoming season, as the Aggies announced the elevation of nickels coach Bryant Gross-Armiento on Thursday.
Entering his sixth season on the football staff in College Station, Gross-Armiento spent time as a defensive analyst in 2021-2022 and a secondary coach in 2023, before joining head coach Mike Elko’s staff in 2024. As the nickels coach in 2024 and 2025, Gross-Armiento led his unit from 90th to 16th in passing yards allowed per game in just two seasons.
Texas A&M beat writer Tony Catalina was the first to report the news of Elko elevating Gross-Armiento to become the new cornerbacks coach for the 2026 campaign.
Gross-Armiento brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the unit, which displayed drastic improvement in 2025. He began his coaching career at Wake Forest as a recruiting assistant and graduate assistant, after a serious injury left him sidelined as a player for the Demon Deacons. Following his time at Wake Forest, Gross-Armiento spent a stint with the Georgia Bulldogs as an analyst and eventually landed in College Station.
Under his guidance, Jaylon Jones and Antonio Johnson were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. He also played a tremendous role in developing athletes like Tyreek Chappell, who closed out his collegiate career with 34 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, and four pass breakups.
Texas A&M’s cornerback coaching position opened following the departure of Jordan Peterson, who left the Aggies to become the new Kansas State defensive coordinator.
