Texans vs. Rams: Los Angeles enters Week 1 as slight home favorites vs. Houston

The Houston Texans are trending in the right direction regarding their overall health headed into Week 1, but how do they look on the betting lines entering Sunday’s showdown at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams?

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Rams open the week as a 2.5-point favorite, which is typical for unfamiliar teams that are granted the home-field advantage. Here are the latest odds from DraftKings ahead of Sunday’s season opener at SoFi Stadium.

Rams vs. Texans odds

Given Los Angeles’ offseason, it makes sense why the Texans have moved closer since the initial line was released in May. Pro Bowl quarterback Matthew Stafford is expected to play on Sunday, but he’s missed a majority of the offseason with back issues.

The Texans feature a top-five defense on paper that can corral Stafford from leaving the pocket. On the opposing side, Houston’s offense line must keep C.J. Stroud upright and out of pressure for the offense to be potent.

The two division winners haven’t last played against each other in the regular season since Los Angeles’ 38-22 victory at NRG Stadium back in 2021. They did meet last year in the preseason, where Houston secure a 17-15 win to close out the preseason.

Sunday will also mark the return of Pro Bowl quarterback C.J. Stroud to California. The Los Angeles native has yet to play a game at SoFi Stadium, but he’ll play two this season, with a second trip out west against the Los Angeles Chargers in December.

Kickoff is set for 3:25 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on CBS.
