The Concho Valley Farmers Market is having its grand opening event this weekend. Here’s what to know.
The farmers market opened for the season on May 10 this year with fresh produce, homemade goods and much more.
The market is located at 609 S. Oakes Street and is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon or sellout.
The grand opening event is on Saturday.
“It is our way of signaling to the community that we are beginning our summer harvest season,” Trevor Schwartz, president of the farmers market, said.
There will be music and free door prizes throughout the day.
“Everything at the farmers market is grown within 75 miles,” Schwartz said. “So, it makes many of the crops seasonal. We will have peaches, tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, asparagus, blackberries, onions, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, beets, different types of greens, locally grown beef and pork, pecans, pistachios, honey, goat cheese, mushrooms, microgreens plants, as well as some baked goods.”
