The Amarillo Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash Monday night after a pickup truck reportedly struck two men and a dog.
APD said Amarillo police officers were called to Southwest 3rd Avenue and McMasters Street at 10:34 p.m. April 27 for a hit-and-run crash involving a vehicle and pedestrians.
According to police, officers found two men and a dog who had been struck by a white pickup truck that left the scene.
APD said 61-year-old David Joe Daniels was taken to a local hospital where he later died. A 55-year-old man suffered minor injuries. Police did not immediately release details about the dog’s condition.
Amarillo police are actively searching for the white pickup truck. The crash remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Squad.
