Round Rock resident claims $7.5 million prize from winning scratch ticket

Former NFL head coach Herm Edwards once said “you play to win the game.”

According to a press release by the Texas Lottery, a Round Rock resident did just that by earning the top prize worth $7.5 million in the scratch ticket game Loteria Supreme.

This marked the third out of four top prizes, each valued at $7.5 million, to be claimed in the Loteria Supreme game. The game boasts a total prize pool exceeding $709.9 million, with overall odds of winning any prize — break-even ones included — at 1 in 3.23.

The ticket was purchased at Paloma Lake Market, located at 7111 County Road 110, in Round Rock.

The lottery winner, who elected to remain anonymous, said they plan to take a nice leave of absence with the prize money.

“I walked over to the gas station to pick up a few things and decided to get a scratch ticket,” said the claimant. “I waited until I was home to scratch off the ticket and then I saw the numbers and realized I’d won. The rest of the day was a blur after that but the next day it sunk in. It’s kind of a miracle knowing I’ll have no worries from now on. I’m looking forward to traveling across the U.S. and seeing more of the country.”
