Texas Tech University will host spring commencement ceremonies Thursday, May 14, through Sunday, May 17.
The graduating class comprises 4,085 undergraduates and 1,499 graduate students, including the School of Law and the School of Veterinary Medicine, for a total of 5,584 students – the largest spring commencement ceremony in university history.
The class is representative of 49 U.S. states and 60 countries. The oldest graduate is 68 and the youngest graduate is 18.
The School of Veterinary Medicine’s class of 80 students is the second graduating class of the program. The class’s oldest graduate is 41 and the youngest is 25. Of those graduating, more than 90% will begin their career in a rural, regional or large-animal practice, and 26% of the class are first-generation students. Over 200,000 animals were seen throughout the class’s clinical year.
Ceremonies can be viewed online via livestream. The School of Veterinary Medicine ceremony will not be livestreamed.
Each ceremony will be held at United Supermarkets Arena, 1701 Indiana Ave., except for the School of Veterinary Medicine, which will be held at the Amarillo Civic Center Auditorium.
