Police have identified a 25-year-old man who was killed and searching for a suspect following a shooting early Friday afternoon in northeast Lubbock.
Lubbock police were called to the 1900 block of East Colgate Avenue at 12:33 p.m. on Friday, June 13 for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Leonardo Pollard inside a house.
Pollard was transported to University Medical Center via ambulance, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Through the initial course of the investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect, 22-year-old Jeremiah Lawrence. An arrest warrant was issued for Lawrence Friday evening. He is currently wanted on the charge of murder.
Police described Lawrence as a Black man who is 6 feet, 4 inches in height and weighs 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. According to police, he should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information about his location they are asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
