Peanut Butter recall 2026: List of products, where they were sold

Thousands of peanut butter and jam products are being recalled after “foreign material” was found during production.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the peanut butter was manufactured by Ventura Foods, located in Los Angeles, and was sold under multiple brand names across 40 states, including Texas and New Mexico. The reason for the firm-initiated recall (meaning the company initiated the recall) is due to “pieces of blue plastic” found in the products found during production, according to the FDA.

The recall includes peanut butter packets, and peanut butter with both strawberry jam and grape jelly — sold in cups.

While the recall was first initiated in April 2025, the FDA classified it as Class II on Feb. 12, according to USA TODAY. The designation means using or being exposed to the products may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, and the risk of serious injury is considered low.

Here is what you need to know.

What peanut butter has been recalled?

According to the FDA, peanut butter products being recalled include:

The products were sold by private-label brands such as US Foods, DYMA Brands, Flavor Fresh, Sysco House Recipe, Katy’s Kitchen, and Gordon Food Service, the FDA said.

Serial numbers for the recalled products can be found here.

Where was the recalled peanut butter sold?

The recalled peanut butter was distributed in Texas and New Mexico — though a total of 40 states are impacted by the recall: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

What to do if you have a recalled peanut butter product

Don’t eat the food and throw it away. Sometimes, you’ll be able to return the product to the store where you bought it for a refund.

You should also dispose of the product properly so that other people or animals cannot eat it, according to foodsafety.gov. (This is particularly important if you opened the product.)

Anyone with health concerns after consuming the products should contact a medical professional.
